How the word unscrambler works

  1. Type your letters. Enter up to 15 tiles. Use ? for each blank tile.
  2. Read the results. Wordrack lists every word you can make, grouped from longest to shortest, with its point value.
  3. Narrow things down. Open Filter words to require a start, an end, or a letter sequence, or to show only words that use every tile.

Example: unscrambling RETAINS

Typing RETAINS finds 219 words in the Wordrack list. The seven-letter words that use every tile are antsier, nastier, retains, retinas, retsina, stainer, stearin. Shorter plays include airts, anise, antes, antis. See the full breakdown on the RETAINS page.

Blank tiles and wildcards

A ? stands for any letter. If you have two blanks, type two question marks. Letters supplied by a blank are underlined in the results and score 0 points, just like blank tiles in the board game.
